The BBC Children in Need coffers today passed the £20 million mark after a galaxy of stars turned out for the television extravaganza. The £20,309,747 haul at the end of the telethon was just short of the amount raised at the same stage last year. Featuring performances from acts including Peter Andre, Stereophonics and Alison Moyet as well as a troupe of newsreaders performing a Beyonce routine, host Terry Wogan described the night as "fantastic".

It was so out of our comfort zone, but it was worth it.   -Kate Silverton

The BBC's annual Children in Need show - featuring a host of stage, screen and music stars - has raised £20.3m. Performers from EastEnders, The Bill and the One Show were among those on the seven-hour show, hosted by Alesha Dixon, Sir Terry Wogan and Tess Daly. Peter Kay launched the official single, featuring dozens of children's TV characters, while dance group Diversity spiced up the BBC newsreaders' routine. The total fell just short of the figure raised at the same point last year. Sir Terry

Another fantastic fundraising effort - we didn't get quite to £21m but we got pretty close.   -Terry Wogan

I'M trying to transport myself into winter mode... and failing miserably. My poor efforts are summer dresses (no sleeves/bandeaus) and staple thick tights, although yesterday I went bare-legged and caused a few gasps in the office. Tights and leggings are a great cover-up for any unsightly hairy pins and we're all guilty of neglecting our legs in the winter months...because we can.

CHILDREN In Need was last night declared the biggest and best yet – with a who's who of British showbiz talent doing their bit for the charity. EastEnders love triangle trio Sid Owen, 37, Patsy Palmer, 37, and Danniella Westbrook , 36, had tongues wagging as they led from the front in a Motown medley.

The star took part in Hell Hole Extreme, a task which saw her dipping her hands into random holes on a 60ft climbing wall, each filled with bugs, rats or snakes and a gold star, which represented one meal for a fellow contestant. The ex-model, 31, admitted that constantly taking part in trials was wearing her down and leaving her "drained" and she begged the public to "let someone else have a go". But she could find herself going from jungle to jungle after producers in America admitted they are keen

I know a lot of you have asked me about my thoughts on I’m A Celeb, but unfortunately this year I haven’t seen it. I do love the show but once kids in bed I hit the gym (at home).   -Peter Andre

Katie Price believes I'm a Celebrity viewers will vote for her to do every Bushtucker Trial because she's seen as a "baddie" since her divorce from Peter Andre. The model won nine stars for the camp after scaling a 60ft rockface and fighting off spiders, snakes, rats and lizards in her fourth trial in a row, Hell Hole Extreme. Afterwards she told the ITV1 show hosts Ant and Dec: "I reckon I'm going to end up doing them all now. There's only about three left to go."
